Even with the Mate 10 on the horizon would you guys recommend buying a mate 9 today?

I've always liked the look of the mate 9 and have almost bought it on a few occasions.

The mate 9 will be more appealing now as price is decent and will be a lot cheaper than what the mate 10's will be.

I change phone quite a lot, every 6 months or so...so would the mate 9 be a decent purchase for 6 months (and I'm coming from an S8 plus).

Battery life, camera, speed of use and sound quality (through headphones) are my main points I look for in a phone....

Thanks.

I'm almost sure you'll be pleased with the Mate 9.
Been wanting to move on to another phone from my Mate.
For me there's just no reason to because it performs very well for me.

My pros are:
Screen size
Camera
Speed
Huawei Alexa
Solid WiFi and data connections
Bluetooth has been trouble free
Long lasting battery

My cons are:
Huawei upgrade support

I went from a S8+ to a Huawei Mate 9.

Excellent device, only thing I miss is Wireless Charging

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm in the UK and can only find it for £599 which is still pretty expensive considering how long it's been out for. I need to decide whether to pay that much for it....

It has been fine for me via 3.5mm or Bluetooth.

I had a 3 hour conference call yesterday and a 2 hour on today using the included headphones

Absolutely it's on my list of phones to get... But at this point I would only get it if it's a good deal as it isn't really worth full price, imo.

It's nearly a year old now. I don't see any phone worth full retail when it's nearly a year old now tbh. Can definitely get a nice refurbished condition one for a lot less.

I really want one but here in the UK its a bit more tricky to find them brand new for a decent price. £600 = $810. which is ridiculous for a phone which has been out that long.
I'm currently trying to find one on eBay!

They come up on eBay regularly. I got a UK one (lha-09) which was 2 months old and is as new condition. I paid 370 but seen them going for 330-350 at the moment.

You can check the warranty left on Huawei website but you may need the seller to provide you with proof of purchase if you need to trigger a warranty claim.

You'll get one as good as new from C.E.X for under £400 and it comes with a good warranty etc. I've bought a few phones from them now and you'd struggle to tell any of them had been ever used at all

Currently £395 from CEX. That's for grade B....have you bought a grade B before or would you advise to only stick to A?
Thanks

All of them have been Grade B's. For peace of mind, try and buy one from a store so you can at least get your hands on it first and get a good look and play with it but I have bought some online from their website because there was none available locally and they were fine too. Grade A phones from them must basically be brand new going by the standard of Grade B's I've purchased

Hi, one last quick question. I've been looking on cex but I can't seem to find whether the phones come with chargers, headphones or not? Or is it just the phone you're getting?? Is there a way to see if looking online?
Thanks.

I can't say 100%. I got original box and chargers etc with all but one of my phones. The last one I bought was the Huawei P10 which I'm using now and it never came with the original charger which is a real bummer as only the original Hauwei charger does the super fast charging.

I just sold my Nexus 6p and bought a Mate 9. Don't regret it at all. Mate 9 is faster, brighter and EMUI is very stable and robust.. This actually is a good time to buy a Mate 9 for 2 reasons. 1. its cheaper than ever. 2. Mate 10 is a $ 1000 bucks.

Agreed! I hope Huawei keeps making and selling them alingside the mate 10 cause it's value can't be beat!
