Would would the 5.5 iPhone need for you to leave the note line?

Iphone 6 hate to say it is a game changer. Less laggy than touch wiz, smooth, way more storage, cheaper, thinner... The only thing I would miss is the customization... That one hurts right there. But other than that. Samsung isn't going to be able to keep up with that. I'll them both and see though.

Sigh. Samsung haterz never give up. The S5 is considered lag free by most users, the Note 4 will likely be even faster and smoother. Even AC says the S5 smooth and quick. Way more storage on the iPhone until you add an SD card to a Samsung, which is a lot cheaper than paying for Apple's memory upgrades. (Talk about Profit Margin!! Add $10 worth of RAM and add $100 to the price!.

And the iPhones are still lower resolution that their Android competition, lack a replaceable battery, SD card, S-Pen and it's apps. And suffer from a UI launcher designed in the 1980s. It's still "Apple's way or the highway."

Even aside from customization, the software still hasn't caught up to Android in terms of capabilities.

I can't believe people just look at one spec of a phone and right it off. If u knew anything about the 8mp camera u would know it'll probably be one of the best cameras this year. But thanks for trying to bash apple for no reason.

LOL. If you knew anything about the camera, you'd know that all anyone knows about it is Apple's marketing hype. Maybe it will "best," maybe not. But only an iSheep would "know" its the best just because Apple said so.

In any case, the Note 4 has a weaker CPU and GPU than the iPhone. So there's that :p

Ahh, here we go. More of your unsubstantiated, yet still meaningless, claims. I thought we'd already established that cpu specs don't mean a faster phone. I have yet to see a benchmark test of an actual iPhone 6. Have you?

None of us know how much RAM the iPhone has, but now that they're allowing more or less real multitasking 1 GB is going to be real limiting, real fast, if that's all there is.

Ya I'm sure u said the same thing about the iPhone 5s camera.. And the iPhone 5 camera.. Idk why its so hard to admit that apple does some things better then android. They focus on what probably 90% of people use their phone for calling, texting, web, apps, camera. And they do most of those things excellent. They don't have the customization of android or the big specs. Personally I'm about results. If that 8mp "Isheep" camera outperforms most of these 10 and 12mp android cameras then who is the real "sheep"?

No, I never said anything about prior iPhone cameras. But pretty much the whole world agress the Galaxy S5 camera is superior to the 5s camera, so why should I assume, in the absence of any facts at all, that the situation is reversed between the Note 4 camera and iPhone 6 camera?

Maybe the iPhone camera is better, maybe it isn't. But your blind faith in Apple's marketing claims doesn't do much for your credibility.

I'll have no problem admitting Apple does some things better than Android. The way the iPhone / iTunes combination handles music is definitely cleaner than any of Android's on-device music options (even though I think iTunes is pretty horrible and outdated). But calling? In what way is the iPhone possibly better? Texting? iMessage is pretty nice, if you don't mind being locked into a proprietary approach.

For what I use my phone for, I honestly can't think of anything else that's remotely better on the iPhone. Most iPhone apps work fine, but no better than similar apps on Android. And actually USING an Android device is so much easier for me, because I can customize it to focus on what I use it for. I don't have to scroll through a hundred apps I rarely use to access the one I use all the time, because I can hide all those rarely used apps in the app drawer, and put only the frequently used apps on my home screen. How does Apple's antiquated UI match that?

How does Apple's "excellent" device let me view weather info directly on the home screen, or lock screen, without opening an app? It can't put widgets on the home screen? Too bad.

Can Apple let me put a calendar display on the home screen that shows my upcoming appointments? Darn, there's that widget thing again.

The simple truth is that Android makes it easier to see and use the things 90% of people use their phone for. Apple hides the data behind rows and rows and rows of icons.

True. And other than a bigger screen, the experience looks pretty much like 2010, not 2014.

If it ain't broke....

When it comes to smartphones and the things that people can do with them, not all that much has changed. They're still mostly used to take pictures, upload them to Facebook so that "friends" who don't really give a **** can see them, check your mail, then put it away.

The problem really isn't the companies or the phones. It's our constant need for the NEXT thing, even if the next thing is no better than the previous thing. As long as the experience remains good, there is no reason to upgrade, or for companies to "bump" the specs... Not unless they are going to do something new that requires it.

See my post directly above yours, Jonathan. Android phones make it easier to do those things. It's iPhones that make you jump through hoops and open apps to view your data.

I suppose the perfection of the iPhone UI is why Apple keeps copying features from Android?

I never said the iPhone 6 camera will be better than the note 4. I said it will be on par with the flagship androids like the galaxy and HTC lines. Other than the very few flagship's the other 80% of android phones are crap. U know what I like about apple is that when I open my apps there is no glitching, freezing or force closing. I like not having to track down stupid battery drains from god knows what. I like to be able to point and snap a pic instead of mess with 10 settings first. I like to know my phone will be updated and it will be supported for 2 years. By the way my android that I'm describing here is an s5 which is a great phone in my eyes. For me and I know most normal users who don't root/ROM or customize every app and widget and font on their phone the anroid customization doesn't mean a whole lot. I'm trying to say apple does a lot of things good and I'm probably one of the few here that will admit that. For as much fun as people talk about the isheep gawking over the next iphone android people do the exact same thing over just as stupid upgrades.

Honestly they're both good phones... I'm sure the iPhone will be good and the Note 4... Just depends what the user wants in a phone.

No one is an iSheep or Fanboy or whatever due to their choice. Just because they don't agree with you doesn't mean you should toss insults...

All those features you mentioned are things you won't see on an iPhone.

That's too bad, Apple surely doesn't need to license anything from android to do those things, none of those are patented, all apple needs, is to implement them, there is really no legal problem stopping it.

Maybe it just isn't in their design philosophy.

I love my iOS devices, but it is a bit of a buzzkill to see the iPhone 6 Plus come out with features that the Note 3 already had. People are going mad over the new iPhone. And I will have to admit that I did too. I had preordered mine and was very excited until this morning when I realized that I was going to be paying a pretty penny for features I had last year when I had my Note 3 that I didn't really need or use then. The tap to pay feature is really cool. But I found that it really didn't make much difference. I still had to take my wallet places because not every store has the tap and pay capability. And it is actually easier to swipe a card than to tap and pay with your phone. Again, I love my iOS devices, but there really is a lot of hype over very little.

So I was seriously considering going from my Note 3 to the iPhone 6 plus, instead of the note 4, but what I saw today totally changed my mind

So my local AT&T store has the iPhone 6 plus cases and I held them in my hands. Holy crap, the iPhone 6 plus in TALLER than the note 3 by almost 3/4 inch! At first I thought it was just that one case but every case they had were the same.

So this turned me off so much. The iPhone 6 plus screen is a 5.5 inch, while the note 4 is 5.7 ", but the actual iphone size is taller than a note 3.

The note 4 is looking pretty damn good now...

I actually like the size of the iPhone 6 plus. It doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is that spec wise it comes up way short of the Note 4 with the exception of the processor being 64 bit. Other than that, it is pretty much smoked. And that's not considering operating system and ecosystem.

I expect many returns of 6 plus when they begin to ship.

It's unnecessarily, hideously big.

I agree. It has a smaller screen than the note 3 and note 4 but it is physically larger. . IMO that is a epic fail for apple

Many of the iPhone 5 and 5S owners are pre-ordering the iPhone 6 plus site unseen. They'll be in for a huge surprise lol

It is quite large. See this phone size comparison between it, a Note 4 and a LG G3 at Phone Arena. Yikes, look at those bezels!!

Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs HTC One (M8) vs LG G3 - Visual phone size compare
Wow nice link and comparison.

"Hello apple, 2010 called and want their huge bezels back lol! "

And I'm not an Apple hater. In fact my wife has the iPhone 5, we have 5 iPads at home, 2 Mac desktops and a macbook air.

I'm pretty sure if you switched the logos between the ip6+ and the LG G3, they would be saying how sleek and sexy the almost bezel-less Apple is compared to the competition!
