I'm thinking about getting a Pixel but I've heard mixed reviews. Would you buy one again?

Absolutely. I've never had one issue. Buttery smooth and I love the on time monthly updates. Also no annoying bloat like Samsung.

That's what's attracting me over the Samsung. No bloatware.

Kate and I both have had our Pixel 3 XL's since release.
We would buy them again without hesitation.
The reasons:
1. First in line for Security and OS updates
2. Pure Google OS with no bloatware
3. Superior camera
4. Smooth and fast
5. Gorgeous OLED screen

Is there any benefit to buying Google direct over Verizon unlocked?

I suppose there isn't a benefit if you're locked in to Verizon.

We prefer using Google Fi and Fi usually has good buyer incentives. Last year's incentive for buying a Pixel 3XL on Google Fi was a Fi credit of $699. The Fi trade-in for the old 2XL was $300, making the 3XL upgrade effectively FREE! If Fi does the same thing again this year, we will upgrade to the 4XL.

Device versions

There's no advantage to buying the Verizon version even if you use it on Verizon except it comes with a Verizon sim. If you already have a Verizon SIM just put it in too the Google unlocked and you're good to go. Only advantage to Verizon is if you buy it from them you can go through Verizon for service. I'm not sure if you can get the Verizon version service through Verizon if you buy it from Google but I think you can.

Glad you guys are enjoying Pixel!

Absolutely, without any hesitation. I got on the Google train with the Nexus 6P. Have had the Pixel XL, 2XL and 3XL, I work in a tech savvy environment where everyone seems to get the latest and greatest of the top tier phones, and have gotten to play with them all. Nothing has been compelling to make me make a change.

And, I've gotten four people in my office to switch to Pixel (plus two of my three kids) I should get a commission, LOL!

I've only had mine since February but as of now I would definitely buy it again.

In the twenty years I've been using mobile devices a couple have stood out above the rest. I don't know what the future holds, but as of right now it looks like my Pixel 3 could be one of the great ones.

Most definitely even despite the issue I had with the Sim card. The phone tics all the boxes in what is essential. Who would think that when it comes to phones, cameras are important...but they are and Pixel is the gold standard.

A device getting mixed reviews? Hard to believe.

I have had no problems with my Pixel 3, enjoy the camera and Google Camera software, enjoy the monthly updates, enjoy playing with Android Q beta while some are still waiting for an Android P update, and enjoy have straight Android. It's Google or Android One for me.

I came from a Note 8. Gorgeous device but too much extra stuff on it. Much prefer my Pixel 3xl.

I loved the 6p. That was my first Google phone. I would still be using it if it didn't succumb to the dreaded bootloop. In fact I picked it up from my drawer last night to see if I could get it to go. No luck. Lol!
