Wow. Alot of issues with ICS update

Noob here. I have a couple of questions. I don't seem to have the ignore/quick text option. I also understood the people app to be redesigned and it sure looks the same to me?

I did not do a factory reset and got the update the morning after they started the push. I have not had any issues with ICS. With GB my phone would lock up and reboot itself or I'd have to take out the battery and restart. No such issues (or any other) with ICS yet. However I'm not a heavy user.

I use Handcent i have uninstalled tried stock same issue, and installed Go SMS same problem, The sound plays when i select it for my notification in the settings and just vibrates when i actually get a text.

I had the same issue until I remembered I hadn't set Handcent to be the default app for SMS, once I turned off the stock text app it was fine.

I have a question about the Official ICS update. Is anyone experiencing that the phone takes a lot longer to charge after the update?I used to be able to charge up to 100% within an hour or so but now it's taking 3 hours to charge. Also, ICS seems to be worse on battery life!

My phone is actually running much better and smoother. I used to have to use an extended battery with gb but since the update I switched back to the stock battery and it works very well. I get about a full day on a single charge.

this is not your mom's!

Ok, so here is my question: I upgraded to ICS as we all did. I'm having a few problems with my phone (apps not responding and such). THinking of doing a backup then doing a fact reset then reinstall the apps I need the most (Alot of crap on there I dont need). If I run the fact reset, will it bring me back to GB or ICS?

You'll still be on ICS.

Is swift key only giving you a problem with Chrome? What is the problem you are having and have you fixed it yet?

The problem is when I'm typing in the search bar, if I make a mistake and try to back space, it retypes the last 3 letters of the word over and over and over. I usually close the chrome browser use the stock browser, where there are no issues. I'm not sure what's causing it to fix it. And I'm not attached to the chrome browser so it's no big deal, but it it is the only bug I've encountered.

I wonder if SwiftKey is aware of this issue?

Ok now this update is working on my nerves! First it was slower charging and faster battery drain which was manageable but now I'm getting random reboots and its beginning to LAG so bad!!! Not to mention the small bugs here and there that should have been worked out considering HTC and Verizon had over 6 months to fix them! If there isn't some fix soon I'm going to call Verizon and do everything in my power to get something different! Sorry guys but the S3 looks like heaven after dealing with this buggy POS!

Hmmm. I was just ready to download ICS to. Maybe not now. My phone is perfect right now on GB.

A lot of people are saying mine is an isolated incident because not a lot of others are having the same problems but I''m seriously starting to think about calling Verizon or Asurion (my Rezound is a new in box replacement from them) and demanding a different model phone (preferably S3)! If that doesn't work then Samsung is currently offering a $200 trade in value on the Rezound if you purchase an S3 which sounds like an amazing deal!

They won't give you anything except a rezound.

What have you tried to fix it? Have you tried a factory reset? I know it's not a fun thing to do but I'm willing to bet it would fix your problems with the random reboots and lag.

I take back what I said.... SwiftKey is giving me all kinds of issues. I cannot wait to get back on venom rom... Wednesday cannot get here fast enough

I just got a reply email back from them and was told that you need to update swift key. This will bring you to 3.0.0.302. Let me know if that works.

Pulled down ICS last night and went good. One thing I did notice fiddling around is when I check my email, on GB there was a white spinning wheel next to the time on the email page when you connected to your POP3 server as it checks for new emails. Now the wheel is 'grayed out' barely visible and not spinning much when I check. Using just the stock email program that came on the phone. Running totally stock. Anyone else seen this? Maybe its the new normal :-\

There are not that many, if any actual bugs. Sense is what it is, replace it with nova or go. In the root and Rom world, you always wipe your phone if you want to avoid problems ALWAYS. Some guys don't and most of the time they are fine, but every now and again, they eventually have to wipe.

I use the sense mail app for gmail, if that's what your getting at, and have never had the problem you are describing. But I don't use windows live, so I can't comment on that.

Third party launchers don't replace all stock apps and certainly one should not be expected to replace every stock app on a device that is buggy "cause they can." In any case, the issue isn't the launcher, it's the Apps. The stock apps. Tons of redundant apps are nothx, for obvious reasons.

Maybe it's fixed in the Rezound update. Mail App in the Vivid 3.6/4.0.3 update randomly (but almost always) reset the push settings for ActiveSync accounts to Poll every 1 hour during peak and Poll every 4 hours or something ridiculous during off-peak times. It was easily reproduceable by simply rebooting the phone after adding the account and setting it up, but happened randomly (often in short order) even without rebooting the phone. Additionally, it would randomly reset or change your app defaults (there's a setting in Sense 3.6 to set which apps are used for certain things by Default) so instead of opening up addresses in Maps, it was opening them up in Google Earth, and setting Chrome as the default browser when I clearly set the stock browser as Default.

I showed it to the AT&T person and they were more than happy to let me switch it out for a different model without paying the $35 restock fee (a fresh phone exhibited same issue).

I never bothered checking the Rezound cause I need more than a 2GB data allowance and CDMA fall-back is FTL.

Some of those Sense Bugs are like 2-3 years old, BTW.

I didn't say it was a showstopper, I said it was a bug. I'm pretty sure they shared much of the same code for both updates, so it's something to check up on...

Why would you use the Stock email app for GMail, when the Google app supports multiple accounts? Just curious? And are you using an ActiveSync connection for that GMail, or IMAP? If you're using IMAP, you won't see the issue I described, and you're probably (maybe) using default settings, anyways...

Piizzadude did you see if you have the most updated version of swiftkey?
