I think you just have to copy the files to your sdcard then use the code provided in the link to copy it to your system/app/launcher2.
You can use Root Explorer instead of using adb which might make it easier that's what I use when I can.

Thanks for the advice. Downloaded root explorer but didn't work. Should I put it in the original launcher2 folder or in system/apps/ folder? Id rather do it this way because I can't get ADB to work for the life of me.

I don't have a launcher2 folder on my ROM so I'm not sure. My launcher is just with all my other app's in system/apps so I would just put it there and try to reboot and see if that works. Make sure you have a backup in case you f up you droid because I have no idea if this will work or not. I'm learning all this stuff by trial and error and believe me I made plenty of errors. Maybe even wait for someone with some more experience with hacking.

Since you have root explorer we can make it sort of easy.

Copy both the launcher files (.apk and .odex) to a folder on your SD card. Unhook from the PC and fire up root explorer.

Long press on the .apk file youve got stored on your SD card, and select copy or move.

go to /system/app, and click the button on the top left to mount it writable. Click the paste button on the bottom of the window.

Do the same thing for the .odex file.

Go back to /system/app and click the button so it's no longer writable.

Reboot

Well, finally got it. Wanna know how I know...because I found at what everyone was talkin about when they said it was throwin them in boot loop. F'ed my phone up. But I had everything backed up so no worries. Just a pain in the arse. Really wanted it to work. Anyone know of a Hero theme that has functional buttons like this one?

Now I'm trying this on 2.0.1 and I still cant get it to work. I did what you said gbhil but its still not working. Except this time, in X's zip theres no .odex file. Could this be the reason why its not working?

Edit: NM, no one told me that I had to click the file within the phone to install it. I'm such a noob =/
