Xoom Boot Animation On Droid X

Im currently running liberty, tried installing this boot animation via data local paste method... I rebooted and all that appears is a shiny gold bar... Any idea on what I did wrong? Phone still boots up fine, just not the beautiful honeycomb animation that I am drooling over haha

O wow a shiny gold bar I want that. Ok take a look in system media. If you have a bootanimation in that folder rename the .zip to .bak. if that is not the issue dl the file again to your computer then drop on sd card. Then do the copy paste and see if that helps. Dl might have gone wrong.

got it working as well, thanks! i liek many others had issues downloading and installing from my phone, once i downloaded it from pc and copied to sdcard, worked like a charm... so obviously there is some kinda glitch there... i now have the xoom boot animation, honeycomb bee, xoom wallpapers, xoom notifications... working on themes that make it feel like it has honeycomb...

Yeah I've failed consecutive times downloading through the android browser. Mediashare website I've had SOME success, but as for megadownload I can't get anything. Im gonna snag it off my pc at home! Freaking cool stuff though. Thank you.

I sometimes just use firefox on my phone to just dl files. Never gives me problems like the stock browser.

Ok so in the desc file I changed the screen size to 480x480 but all I get is a black screen so I think I need to manually resize each picture to that size so it will properly display on the Dinc. I also tried to add the Droid sound, but I can't seem to get that to play.


Nevermind I just need to slow it down a couple fps so maybe I'll try 15 instead of 40

When you edited the desc file how did you do it. You need to pull it from the file drop on desktop. Open and change and save. Using winraw drop it back into its location. It will ask how to save it make sure the setting is set to store. If its done with 7zip or not added as store it will be a black screen on boot.

I unzipped with WinRAR, opened desc.txt with Notepad changed the fps from 40 to 15 save as and made sure it was saved as Unicode then rezipped into bootanimation.zip with compression set to Store and put in system/media. I originally thought I would have to change the resolution, but after running your original file again I realized the fps needed to be slowed down. Tried to add sound to it by adding android folder and android_audio.mp3 to system/media along with adding it into the desc, but that didn't work so I decided to skip the audio.


Edit: Changed fps from 40 to 15 and that did the trick, no change in resolution. Fit screen nicely, now going to go for sound lol

Awesome glad its working. Here is a screen shot of the file I made for the apex rom. Set your file like this with the sound file name you have and not apex. Then drop the sound file into system media. Since the xoom boot is only one file you want the sound to play above the folder. Here it starts just after the first set. So yours should be size and speed then sound then image folder. See if that helps.

Might be something with the build props. I know the x had the same issue with not having sound.

Honeycomb boot animation

I can't get this to work for some reason.
I'm rooted and I've tried everything to get this to work, but all I've been able to do is lose my stock boot animation...
I've dropped the zip in system/media and data/local; flashed the XoomBoot zip via bootstrap recovery; tried to install via liberty toolbox; tried editing the desc file from 480 854 40 to 480 427 30, created a new bootanimation.zip with that and tried to install that new bootanimation.zip file via root explorer; tried pushing via the sdk...nada nothing...

Any help would be appreciated

I have tried everything. From using different browsers to system/media, data/local and the recovery zip. I got the little bee but now after it boots up my screen is blank. It still loads and everything but no honeycomb!!! Any suggestions? I am still new at this but I read this thread and have been trying different ways and nothing. Please help me!! I wanna be a cool kid too.

I identified the issue with the flash version a while back and I rebuilt it to correct the installation, anyone that cares to install this version you can download from Xoom_Bootscreen.zip

I in no way take credit for developers work, I just fixed the installation process so all a user have to do is flash this just like a rom in clockwork...
