Xoom Lock ups/Freezes

I bought my Xoom about one week ago and love it ...I think its a keeper but
was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing lockup's ?

So far i had to force a reboot about 3 times because the unit was unresponsive ..This happened a few time when playing a game and just now when watching a clip with Rockplayer Lite which I let it be for a few minute to see what happens and eventually rebooted itself ....Its a little strange ..I think

Is it maybe just related to my xoom or did you guys get a few lockup/feezes ...dont want to bring it back to exchange for nothing

Any help/feedback
 
hmmm.....Do you know what happens with the paid apps I installed ? Do I need to re-buy them again or can I re-install for free ?
 
Thanks ...so bottom line from what I hearing the lockups are not frequent and this leads me to believe there is a obvious issue with my unit ?

Well not necessarily. What game were you playing when this happens? Maybe the game is not really optimized for honeycomb yet? It happens to me on some games/apps that I run that is actually not meant to run on a tablet. Sometimes I get lucky, but most of the time it will crash or worst reboots the tablet.

On the other hand, if you can still return it why not...
 
the first freeze happened on this game called walkabout lite but never happened again and other freezes were random ..My last lockup just happened this morning when scanning through some movies on Rockplayer Lite ....
 
ok ..just replicate the freeze ...Seems like its with Rockplayer Lite if I fastforward or backup with Rockplayer freezes up the machine and reboots itself after 3 min ...Im thinking its more of an issue with the app

Have you tried it with the stock player? See if it's the player or the movie that is causing the lock ups. I'm not too much into watching videos, but I heard MOBOPLAYER works really well with the xoom.

Hope you sort this one out, xoom is a great device.
 
Indeed ....Stock player works like a charm this is why im thinking its probably rockplayer related ....well thxs for your help.
 
This thing must be defective...

I have had my new Xoom up and running for all of 2 hours and it has crashed at least a dozen times. It seems to be a memory error as it only happens when using more than one App. If listening to music and reading email - CRASH! And a loud crash at that as the song freezes on whater note it happens to be playing. Multiple browsing experiences - including signing up as a new user here at androidcentral - so disappointing. i guess I'll be back at BestBuy tomorrow. Any idea on how to safely remove any and all personal information? Is there a factory reset?
