Xperia Z2 on AT&T? Please?

Like many in this thread I'm really hoping the Z2 comes to AT&T. I've been a Samsung customer since the GSII and I've been looking for something different. Lets hope Sony wants to make a big splash in the American markets.

I'm in the same boat. Had the SII, 3, 4, Notes 1-3 and I'm ready for the Z2. The M8 and S5 isn't cutting it for me and the Z2 looks so damn sexy.

So I read this on Motoring Crunch:

"There is bad news for anyone waiting for the arrival of the Sony Xperia Z2 in the USA as Sony has now confirmed that they will not release the flagship device in the US. The device is set to reach UAE markets on 17 April. "

I wouldn't trust that garbage blog. They don't cite the sources for their "news". I'd rather wait for a direct word from Sony.

Since I'm due for an upgrade this summer and my One X deserves a break, the Z2 is looking really good right now. The S5, although still a great device, just isn't for me, and while I'm looking forward to what HTC has this year, I kind of want to try something new. Only thing is, I'm not keen of buying unlocked, and I haven't heard of a Sony device being on AT&T. I'm crossing my fingers that AT&T gets, though...

Well, the Xperia ZL was on AT&T. I think that's the one. Just buy the unlocked C6503 version. That'll work.

as long as it supports AT&Ts frequencies, I have no problem with buying it outright from whoever can deliver it.

go to eBay, buy it from e-bagel-tw. Bought mine on Monday, it arrived in the U.S. today (Thursday).

I want this phone on AT&T too dang it. I was reading Sony's website and just discovered their purple variant...now coming to the forums to read up and learn that it may not be coming to the US, and if it does it may go Verizon only? I can't afford a phone outright so that excitement sure was short lived. Damn.

Get the C6503 version. It supports ALL the frequencies. Seriously, it has like 10 different LTE bands. It can get LTE on any carrier in North America. Buy it on eBay.

Yes, the one pre-installed app can be removed. Most of the pre-installed apps can be.

I bought my Z2 unlocked from overseas. Getting one subsidized might save you in the short term, but you'll pay for it, and more eventually. Unlocked and unbranded, I don't have to deal with AT&Ts bloatware or tethering lock outs.
