Z Fold 3 Lounge.

So, a few things for me to note now that I have had my Fold3 for not even 24 hours yet.

  1. I LOVE THIS PHONE! :D
  2. Battery Life is hard to guage since I have not had it off-charge much (as I am constantly playing with it)
  3. The outer screen IS narrow, but I have not had too many issues using it (and I am 6'5" tall (1.96meters)) and have big hands
  4. The inner screen is beautiful and a blast to use!
  5. I have not done any of the "battery saving" tricks yet (YET, want to see how it lasts with my normal usage)
  6. Cell signal has been great. I had issues with my Note 20 Ultra (granted it was a Sprint phone moved to T-Mobile) - I still have not been out too much yet, but have a lot of things to do today, so we will see more)

All in all, I am happy with the phone. I am a Nova Launcher user, but before I got my Fold3, I uninstalled Nova and configured OneUI on my N2U so I could get used to it. I don't LOVE it, but I like it enough.

I used Smart Switch to move everything over as well as many of the apps and whatnot. Honestly, it went so smoothly that I had to LOOK for things to complain about the process and all in all, my only "complaint" is how long it took going cable-to-cable (didn't want to do it via WiFi (Slow-Mode)). The transfer was not too slow (about 8 minutes), but once it was done, it had to go through and "restore" it (put all the apps and settings the way they were) and that part took 20 mins or so.

Then, all of the app updates... hehe... like I said, I had to go LOOKING for something to complain about. :P

I was scared as this is my first phone in a LOOOOOOONG time that does not have an SD Card. I did get the 512GB variant. I put all my apps and files that I wanted to keep from my old SDCard to the phone and ended up only using 146GB of the 512GB storage, so I am good for space!! :D

All in all, great phone. The build quality was a nice surprise. This thing feels really SOLID compared to what I remember of the Fold 1 and 2.

I'm waiting for when Pablo Escobar's family is going to re-skin this in gold and try to sell it as their own... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRIT58zTiBE)

Anyway, I think, all in all, I have to agree with many people. Is this phone Perfect? No. But for a foldable phone, it's pretty close for me! :D I don't have to send in my N20U until Oct 10, but I think I am just going to see how a week is with this phone and then send it back. I just need to make sure I do everything needed in order for it to be accepted for trade. :D

edit: I guess the only other complaint I have is that I am still not a fan of OneUI. I will try 4.x when it is released, but I am still thinking I would much rather have something like Nova Launcher, if it worked well on folding phones that is. :(

That's fantastic, that's how i felt when I played with mine. Still loving it like the first day i got. I don't use any launcher and stick with ONEUI since day one and I don't have any issue with it.

Someone suggested KWGT Widget Maker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kustom.widget) to add some more visual appeal to OneUI and I played with it for a while and bought it ($5.99 for paid). All of the widgets I use have been free, however, there are some paid ones and free ones with paid features (for full disclosure). All in all, I like what they have and that you can make your own!

WOOO!! It arrived and on-time! A first for FedEx for me (in a very long time!!)

Got my data transferred and am updating apps and then will get into the nuts and bolts! :D

YAAASSSS this made my day! Let us know how you are liking it! Happy Phone Day!

I went to bed later than normal last night, was up reading and playing with the phone. lol!

I LOVE IT! I am not sure I will ever go back to a "standard" phone now and am not seeing why I should keep my iPad even. I may just end up selling it. I know iPads seem to lose their value a lot harder than iPhones, so will see if its worth trying to sell or just keeping it for giggles. :D

My Samsung Note 20 Ultra is now with it's new owner as I liked the Fold 3 so much I knew it was a keeper.

When I open the phone i.e unfold and start multitasking and using split screen this phone comes into it's own as well as watching Media such as YouTube etc.

The look on my family and friends and work colleagues faces say it all when they see it in action.

In regards to the outer screen you can rotate the phone into landscape and I use the split screen when texting which totally gets round the cramped screen.

For me the outer screen presents no issues.

I power up my phone at 5am and power down at 9pm.

When I get home from work at around 6pm I still have around 60% battery , however as said many times battery stats are subjective as we all set up our phones differently and use them differently.

The Fold 3 is my first taste at owning a Fold phone and I'm confident it wont be my last.

I'm certainly enjoying the journey.

Glad you're loving it. More than likely for me, I'll be returning it.

But I'm torn, not sure if I want the Note 20 Ultra or s21 Ultra. I do know the Note is thinner and lighter.

The Note 20 Ultra is a really nice phone as well is the s21 ultra.

Really it's down to which ticks your wants and needs boxes more.

I keep my phones for around 12 months and then if a new model is available that brings more to the table that ticks my wants and needs I'll buy it.

It's funny because I PRMOISED myself that I would keep the N20U for at least 3 years before upgrading.

Soooooooooooo... that didn't happen. :(

Now, I plan to keep this Fold 3 for as long as it will keep working... I can afford to upgrade every year, I just don't WANT too. :P

Ha. I know the feeling. Just would hate to keep it, then get a cheap phone to use at work and have to swap Sims all the time.

Lucky for me, I work remote 100% of the time, so I am at home most days with some excursions outside when needed. :P

It's funny, my brother and his business partner picked me up and took me out to lunch. We were all sitting there at the table just chatting, then a notification went off on someone's phone and the 3 of us pull out our Z Fold 3's and the people in the next table next to us were staring. LOL!

The Fold³ is a heluva device. I can see why folks that see it might be interested.

OMGOSH I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that scene!
