I own a Verizon LG G3. I really like this phone. There are some great exclusive features. I like that I can customize my launch bar on the bottom. I like the q slide. I like the drop-down notification bar with the quick settings right there for you. Turning on wifi or going into airplane mode is a snap. Adjusting the screen brightness is fast and i like having so much screen real estate.

But I must say the battery life is really disappointing. I'm a heavy user and id like my phone to have some stamina.

Thats why I'm considering a switch to.the new Sony Z3V. Since it has the lower resolution screen (still though 1080p should be sufficient) the actual usage time is supposed to be much longer. Additionally it's waterproof and I think listening to my tune in radio in the shower or watching a movie while relaxing in the tub sounds like a good feature. But the lack of accessory support for a carrier exclusive phone scares me plus the screen is a bit smaller. Also from what i read it seems to have some slighyly reduced functionality compared to the standard Z3.

My first priority for a phone is the screen, the screen is the conduit to enjoying your phone. And i gotpretty used to 5.5 ( yes the difference is evident) But battery life is right up there as welll since what good is a great screen if you're tethered to the wall?

I switched from the LG G3 to the Z3v and I'm really glad I did. You're right, the battery on the G3 leaves a lot to be desired. The battery on the Z3v lasts all day for me, and that's with moderate usage. I don't notice any difference between the QHD display on the G3 vs the 1080 resolution on the Z3v (unless you put the screens side-by-side, of course). And last, but definitely not least, I dropped my Z3v in a sink full of water the other day and nothing happened to it, except that it got wet. :) I love that this phone is waterproof.

I don't regret switching at all.

Did the screen size diffence bother you? When I did a side by side in the Verizon store on a YouTube video it looked like the z3v cut the video even smaller than the screen difference.

Currently I am having problems with my phone that are making me consider a different one, however these are the things I like about it that you may as well ( which I also believe are exclusive to this device)

- Front facing speakers, this is an amazing feature that I have been wanting in a phone forever, they are also loud as hell, more so that my laptop.
- The screen is absolutely beautiful, I dont think there is much competition.
- Waterproof and dust proof are great ways to have worry-free day.
- And of course the battery. For an 8 hour work day, with a two hour commute, I come home with my battery around 40%. Thats with listening to music the entire time, using the internet periodically, and sometimes running iheartradio. On standby I dont have to charge my phone for a day or two.

I went from a Droid Turbo to the Z3v, no regrets!
better camera, tons of options, better pics...IMO
wireless charging
water resistant
seems more customization available....Sony stuff...
(walkman player is kool)
screen brightness!
battery so far about the same....i can get home with %30 - -

I can't compare it to the LG, but I can certainly compare it to my Droid Maxx, battery wise. This Sony has terrific battery life.
