Zagg Invisible Shield HD & Proximity Sensor Problems

I have the zagg on now and have also used the skinomi (which has no cut out) and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. A friend of mine got the phone when I did, has the zagg on and had no problems with the sensor until this week. Confusing issue.

Ok, this has been a ongoing issue for me.I got my phone on pre order n the bb employee put my zagg invisible shield on.I noticed the problem and called zagg, the said thier aware of the problem and are working on a revision. They said they would send me a revised version,i got the so called revised version. It was same exact one as the one on my phone, called again and they sent another replacement once again same version. I called back they told me to take a picture of the original shield and pics of my two replacements to prove they are all the same version. So i looked on thier website the other day HTC EVO 4G LTE Screen Protector | invisibleSHIELD by ZAGG and it looks like the shield on thier website has the correct cutout yet no stores carry it im fed up with this issue sorry for the long post

Thanks, but I've read that a bunch of people are having the p issue with those too. For those not having the issue, they probably weren't having an issue with the Zagg either. All or none I guess. I'm still mystified by the lack of consistency with the p sensor issue. Mine is working perfectly now with no protector, but every protector I've tried screws it up.

So all things being equal using the better looking /feeling, cheaper(2 for 13 dollars) should be the way to go. Steinheil ultra crystal, best out there hands down. Tried them all.

Absolutely true. Zagg is garbage, can't believe people still use them. Ultra Crystals are the best on the market hands down

Also just an update. I took a razor blade to it this morning and basically extended our maybe 2cm from the notch and now the proximity sensor is functioning fine. So I can safely say that the Zagg protector was causing the problem.

If you look at the cut out in the zagg, it's narrow. The sensor on the phone is a horizontal oval. The zagg is not cut out to expose the entire sensor. I surmise that part of the sensor being covered is causing the problem.

I've used the faulty zagg, and I have a skinomi on right now which also covers the sensor, and haven't had any problems.

Well that was an absolutely strong statement of personal opinion. ZAGG isn't garbage. The truth is YOU find them garbage. And that's fine. There are a lot of people who would disagree with you and say they only use Zagg. We have Zaggs on my S2, my wife's S3 and my son's Evo4GLTE before we returned the phone. They work great for us. No issues whatsoever.
If I upgrade to an Evo (IF the multitasking is fixed), get an S3 or something else, I'll be most likely applying a Zagg.

How many other brands have you tried? I've been throughout about 15 brands on my past 3 phones, and Zagg is by far one of the worst out there when it comes to looks, feel, and ease of install. They also have issues occasionally with leaving glue behind when removed. Zagg hasn't made any progress in years because people still blindly buy them as other companies have advanced far beyond them. Yes, you're right, its opinion...just like saying the EVO 4G LTE is better than the HTC Hero is opinion

As long as you agree that's it's your opinion and not fact, as your previous post alluded to. The Zagg is garbage to you.
And that's okay.

I have better things to do than
constantly peel off and apply a whole host of screen protectors. I don't suffer from OCD issues. The Zagg looks good and works for us.

I agree, after trying over a dozen different ones zagg is at the bottom of the list.

Well you either missed the sarcasm or chose to completely ignore it, lol. I guess you're right, it is opinion and personal preference. If you want a protector that's rubbery, with orange peel texture and poor clarity, Zagg is at the top of the list. If you want glass like feel and crystal clear to the point most don't even realize there is something there, then Zagg is crap and almost anything is better.

I didn't need to constantly peel off and reapply. I get at least one new phone a year and have tried many until I found the best on the market. My "opinion" is based on experience with multiple brands taking into account what most people want. Yours seems to be based on blind loyalty. I guarantee if you were to try the Steingeil Ultra Crystal you would also agree the Zagg is garbage. My is based on the facts of real world performance, like clarity, toughness, feel, and ease of install. Zagg is at the very bottom of the list easily.

If you call Zagg they will send you the new version of the shield for free they even wave the shipping and it has the correct cut outs. Problem solve and gone. I love the invisible Shield HD it feels just like the glass naked.

I did call sagging and was told they don't have any with the correct cutouts and they would custom cut one for me, but they don't have the HD material and to call back in a month.
