I am having a problem with Swype on this ROM. It installs and the keyboard works when tapping it, but when I try to swype a word the keyboard just flashes. Anybody have ideas?

Do I have to have my Optimus V activated before I apply CM7? I activated it online but I can't use it to make any calls. Did I break it somehow by applying CM7 before I did the online activation? :-\

Well you probably should have waited for it to activate first. When you flashed this rom you got rid of the "activate" button in the settings. I have read that some peoples phones don't activate right away and using the activate button worked for them some of the time. You could try flashing your stock nandroid backup and using the activate button and waiting a bit.

Was trying to port my number by dialing ##VIRGIN# while on the phone with the customer service and nothing comes up... Going to flash back to stock to do it... Unless it's just a missing .apk I can apply. Any Ideas?

PS. Love this rom! Much better than stock.

Easy. Go to beta.swype.com and register. Follow instructions and you will be provided a link. Do this on your phone so you can download the installer. It works great. The only issue is if you reboot your phone, it reverts back and swype will not function correctly. To rectify this you go to settings > language and keyboard and you will see both keyboards are selected. Untick swype and then hit back. Go back again to settings > language and keyboard and untick android keyboard and tick swype, it will display a message, hit ok and thats it.

It didn't seem to work at my end, I might be doing something wrong, but is this a bug in CM7?

Anyway, I'll update to the latest 2.3.3 ROM that icemank121 just posted and see if the issue persists.

i'm confused. i already have another rom installed with clockwork recovery, but I want to try this one. if i flash the debug system, won't i lose my recovery and my backup that I have of my stock rom?

It looks like 2.3.3 broke the hold-the-volumn-key-to-skip-song for the music app when the phone is locked.

I had aospCMod ROM and clockwork recovery. Just format /system, /data, cache, and delvik cache from Clockwork recovery, then install the nightly zip.

I have aospCMod ROM and im deciding between red's stock rom n this one...
2.3 fix that game buggy problem on angry birds for me... but 2.3 runs slower than the stock rom i used to have.

edit: nevermind, reflashing gapps brought them back. was that there before?

I had to follow option 3, and uninstall both the swype installer, and swype, and then reinstall (which relicenses swype). Hope this helps!

For those who want to map a function to the defunct voice dialer button on the side can use this: [GUIDE] How to Remap Hardkey Actions || Custom App Launching - xda-developers

Just substitute the hero file with "thunder_keypad.kl". I got mine working as a call button.
