more likely, which version you buy. People with the 3560 1.8ghz processor are not reporting problems. Folks like me with the 3580 2.3ghz processor are.

Well here's a pretty cool capability of ZenUI...allows the user to prevent background usage as a power management strategy. Still trying to figure out why Google is using so much battery...but this is a start.

I had pretty much everything that showed up as using battery marked to not allow wakeups or keep awake and it made no difference. Good luck everybody, hope Asus fixes the issue sometime soon. As for me I'm off to the Ascend Mate7 forums to read up on my new phone that's in the mail.

What's the firmware version? The latest with changelog info is WW_2.12.40.11 from March 19.

With that said, I managed to find the release notes on the official Zentalk forum directly under their Announcements link (not Release Notes). According to it, there has been some relevant power consumption tweaks for all models.

Yeah, I like everything but the battery. I will be spending all day visiting clients in NYC on Monday... no way this would last the day. I'll go back to my z3 compact, which is essentially unkillable.

Battery update. Took the phone off the charger, started writing a post. 49 mins screen on, down to 86% battery. Would give nearly 6 hours sot. Not bad. As I write this I'm at 1 hour and one minute, 83%.

And that's with the 4GB version, right? Man, I can get that kinda battery outta my S3... with airplane mode on. I'm really looking forward to this phone.
