ZVH Gingerbread CM7 [NAME TBA] Sprint Optimus S

Does that work now? The last discussion I saw on using a virtual machine people could not get it to work switched to debug mode.

I have used VMWare Fusion to force flash before (though it was VD to v9). I haven't run into anything that has been a problem on a VM so far.

Hows the battle going with this version?

Hoping for continued visible progress. My phone is a hundred times better thanks to the work of the modding community.

Just a quick note, we are still struggling with the new radio being compliant. It may seem like things are at a standstill, but we are always testing and building... :)

I can't wait for you guys to get this working.

I took the plunge and updated to Opti-Rom from Drew's CM7, and it's been a headache ever since. Lots of weird issues with ZVH. Screen sensitivity is whacked, random loss of internal space, and just seemed kind of laggy.

Switched to gROM and while it has a LOT more internal space, my wifi won't work for longer than a few minutes before giving me an error. I then have to reboot the phone to get 3G working. Also getting the same screen sensitivity and lag. Still can't get the built in power widget or Free Power Widget to work after reboots. And to top it off, Swype 3.25 won't work after you reboot the phone either. It just keeps giving non-stop force closes.

Can't wait either! :D
In the meantime, check out the new Opti-ROM and see if you get better results with that. The included wireless tether app should hold you over. Although ZVH as a whole is still a bit buggy, I've had better experience after flashing the noIQ patch included by jstntp on the ROM's page now. :)

Correct me iif I'm wrong, but the only method of reverting to VD requires a windows computer, right?

Boot from linux disc in live mode or something lol sympathetic wine and thats got cmd prompt

Thanks for the info. I'll stick to playing Glitch for a while. ;)

Edit: Though, on second read, I didn't ask for an ETA (and wouldn't; I know for every step forward there's a period of frowning and wondering why the hell it's DOING that). I just like seeing anything. :-[ And there's always the chance that someone will read and send you a thought-provoking, "I wonder if it's because of" or "oh, that's likely due to" response.

I'll still go bury myself in my Glitch skill tree. The builds out there now are great.

Yep. You can also install Windows in a virtual machine such as VMware or VirtualBox.

I used VMWare fusion (free trial) to do the force flash. I believe before that i had tried Wine, VirtualBox, and ReactOS ( a windows operating system clone ). The only combo that worked was VMWare + XP.

If someone does bring Cyanogen to the ZVH Optimus, it'd be great if they also included the extended custimization of colors like the text and bar color, and great things like the notification power widget
