ZVH Gingerbread CM7 [NAME TBA] Sprint Optimus S

If someone does bring Cyanogen to the ZVH Optimus, it'd be great if they also included the extended custimization of colors like the text and bar color, and great things like the notification power widget

The "customization of colors" you speak of is called a theme, and themes for CyanogenMod 7 are widely available on the Market as well as other places.

The notification power widget is an integral part of CyanogenMod, and cannot be dis-included (sic).

Correct me iif I'm wrong, but the only method of reverting to VD requires a windows computer, right?

Technically i dont think soo. I think There are apps that will flash stock recovery. If you do that, then just get the new stock update zip, on the forum. It will autoinstall vd radio. Also its easy to use DREWS!!! Oscc tool, which, when i had ZVD, which is how i got stock recovery back. But it wont install xionia on zvh, at least i could not get it to work. Love the tool though! Also... either of the zvh roms have actual AP hotspot? Like WIP cm7 by "k" (cant remember his name -_- sorry) has the hotspot widget built in? Can i use wifi tether beta to toggle AP net hotspot?

Ok, so after playing with cm7 on another project, I'm significantly more curious about it on my phone. Except I'm running zvh...

You can have it on ZVH it just won't have network connectivity.

Lol !! That is like saying you can use a rock as a boat, but it just wont float !!!

Yes, to get a functional cm7 you would have to revert to zvd. But if you have a rooted zvh, the process would be quite similar to achieve. If you want to revert, look for the Simplified unroot and return to stock topic. That will get you back to zvd, then you would just have to flash a custom recovery and then the cm7 version of your choice.

I've been trying to keep up with this thread a bit to see what progress is being made. If I can be of any help let me know. I can test anything you guys are working on. Well....except phone calls and data since I don't have Sprint anymore. I can also contribute to help fixing any of the issues. Having a phone that is only usable as a development device is nice. No need to worry about breaking it :D

I hope my donation to drew is helping him accomplish this more quickly since he's not having to use his primary device to test with..I haven't been around much since I sent it to him, but I do know he told me that he received it.

With as much pain as flashing radio is is on this beast, I'm going to just wait it on the zvh version.

The "other project" I was participating is is the Tenderloin (HP Touchpad) cm7 project... (it was released Wednesday night around 11pm as an alpha... and it's got > 3500 copies installed thus far)

of course Sprint's prolly going to release a zvi to fix zvh's issues...

Please correct me if I'm wrong.. but I believe Zxx version numbering is set by LG and not Sprint... Although the carrier may slap a different version on it depending on carrier.

just made a small donation. i'm not really clear where the donation goes. I assume it will be distributed between the devs. who is involved in developing this ROM-to-be?

as a side question, what sort of skills are needed to get this working?

Thanks, cheers,

Been busy lately guys and haven't had much time to be on the forums. We may soon release the current build for public testing soon. It is in the same condition as is noted on page 1 of the thread so work still needs to be done to it to get the baseband/radio working. There are a few developers included in this that are giving their input. Obviously I am working on it and obviously drewwalton is also working on it. Athanos is tied up but is also trying to help. Hope that answers all questions up to this point. :)

I know I've done 30 so far ;-)
I see that! Very cool.
I see the OP only noted that one single donation so I figured he was holding back the total amount as a surprise? Unless of course you are the only one that donated... Then he did post the total amount of donations. lol

Basket, whats the grand total?
