Help... Not all contacts export/sync

Hello,

I am trying to export my contacts, or sync them with Outlook, but not all of them will sync/export. When I sync, I get most of them, but a reasonably large proportion seem to be missing (of the people I call regularly, none seem to have exported/synced). My contact list looks complete, but after selecting one of the export options, the list of contacts I can choose to export is missing all the contacts that failed to sync. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Edit: Resolved, mostly - I pulled the contacts out of Gmail in csv form. The issue with the phone is still there, but unless someone else is having the same problem, it's just academic at thispoint.
