transfer to phone

My better half and I both have Samsung phones, she has the galaxy S4 and I have the galaxy note 2. We have tried to do the touch to transfer pics from one phone to the other, and we have the items set in settings, but to no avail, what are we doing wrong?

I tried this with my Friend's S4 and my Old S lll, when we did it, it worked fine. Here is a link on how to do it on the S lll. What is S Beam™, and how do I use it on my Samsung Galaxy S® III? : AT&T Cell Phones | Samsung
Should be similar on the Note 2. Might have to turn on NFC and S Beam on the Note 2. Just do it like in the link and pull up a photo, touch the backs of each phone together and you should have something show up to tap on the phone that's sending the picture. Both phones have to have the screen on and not locked. If I remember right, you'll feel a vibration once the photo is sent and then you can pull the phones apart.
