Charging cable

So, my two Rezounds just arrived and I put them on the chargers before I activate them, and I notice the power cord/usb cable is very different from a normal micro USB cable. Will other Micro USB chargers work to charge it? I'd hate to have to replace our work and car chargers.

You have to insert a standard micro USB plug with the wide side up.

Any one know why it come with such a funky cable? My guess is it's a more secure connection? I know it's a lot harder to put in.

from what i understand, the cable that comes with it will charge the phone faster because of the connector. yes, a standard micro usb connection will work, but wont charge the phone as fast as the stock cable.

The odd cable connector is, from what I understand, because the port is both charging/data and an HDMI out, with an adapter.

I have used regular micro USB and have gotten it to charge at near 1a, similar to the stock charger.

MHL interface for hdmi out uses regular micro USB. It is pretty finicky anyways.
