Best Charging Practices

Just wanted to feel out the group here on thoughts relating to charging. When I had my old BB Storm, I would have it automatically turn off/on at night(thinking I was helping to pro-long the battery life, somehow) I am curious as to the impact on the life of your battery to have it on the charger all night while the phone is on versus while it is off.

Is it better to charge phone all night, with it ON or OFF??

once the battery gets to the charge it wants to be at, it stops charging. you can't overcharge these batteries, except by bump charging, which damages the life of the battery, so don't do that at least.

is it ok to bump charge the first time? or does it not even matter

It does increase the battery life for the subsequent discharge. It doesn't improve the battery or anything though, you have to do it every time. Its a hack, the battery charges to where it's supposed to be on it's own. Bump charging it forces it over that line, it is not good for the long term battery health. If you don't care about that, then go ahead, you'll just have to buy a replacement earlier than you would otherwise.
