Hey guys, I have a question about my family plan. Currently, I'm looking for a way to lower my bill.

We are on an old Nationwide Talk & Text 1400 plan.

    Nationwide Talk & Text 1400 - $100
    Line 1 access - $9.99
    Line 2 access - $9.99
    Line 1 unlimited data - $29.99
    Line 2 2gb data - $30.00

Total comes out to be $180 + taxes

My phone has unlimited data and my dads line has the 2gb data. I want to keep my unlimited data obviously so I assume I have to stay on their old plan. I was wondering if we could perhaps split our plan into two individual single plans yet still appear on the same bill. What I was thinking of is this:

    Nationwide Talk & Text 450 - $59.99
    Unlimited Data - $29.99

Verizon "S" Plan - $35 (which comes with 2gb of data, unlimited talk & text)

By adding those up and assuming there is a $9.99 line access charge per line, the bill comes out to be around $145 + taxes. Is splitting my currently family plan to this even possible? Thanks in advance!

I believe that you would need to AOL your dad's line to another account. This would move your plan to the individual plan

You can split the lines into sub accounts. The unlimited needs to stay on the main level. You could then move the second line.

The costs are different though. For you Father's line it would be $35 + $20 for the line (if he is under contract it will be $40).

Your unlimited would be $59.99 plus the data $29.99. To save more money you can attempt to get the $15 loyalty plan. It has 30 minutes and no texting. You can use Google Voice for unlimited calling and texting with the unlimited. This would have your line cost around $45.

I did not include taxes in any of this.

I would call on the phone and explain this all to the them and make sure they understand what is happening. You don't want to lose unlimited. You also may have to AOL the second line to the sub account.

Hmm.. I remember reading that you couldn't mix the shared data plans with the older plans? Haven't tried it myself though, maybe I remembered it wrong
