Can someone help with SMS Backup+?

I have just wiped my HCT M8 and have tried restoring my SMS but it appears to ahve only restored up to a couple of months ago.
The app keeps asking me:

"Do you want to use SMS Backup+ instead of Messages as your default messaging app"?

Not sure what to do here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Say no every time. (Any app that looks at SMS messages will ask that when you run it. It's a Gopogle decision to ask the question that I disagree with - a "default" choice in the menu would usually mean less work [in saying "no" all the time] for the user.)

As for only restoring from or up to a couple of months ago, it can only restore what you backed up, it doesn't find deleted messages and undelete them.
