6.0.1 not seeing the split back/home/overview icons layout

I read and seen some images of a split layout for landscape mode of the back/home/overview buttons on 6.0.1 but I don't see it after installing. If it only on larger tablets like the 9 by htc?

I wonder if there is a way to force this option on the nexus 7? In landscape mode, it would be ideal. Not sure why they didn't include it too.
