Why isn't my Nexus 10 loading after Android 5.1 update?

Nexus 10 not loading after Android 5.1 update

Help! A notification for the Android 5.1 update popped up so I clicked on it. Then it said it would reboot, but now it is stuck on the circling dots. It was stuck on it for about 10 minutes so I pressed the power button to restart it. After holding down the power button for about 7 seconds, it went blank, let out a beep, displayed "Google" briefly before going back to the circling dots. Did I ruin my Nexus? It doesn't even turn off now. Dots have been circling for the past 30 minutes. Please help, I use my Nexus for work and this is making me feel sick.

Welcome to Android Central! Force a power off by pressing and holding Power for about 10-15 seconds. Then try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition. Follow the steps post #11 of this thread; http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...451-how-clear-nexus-10-cache.html#post3365755
