If you are talking about the GSM Developer Edition (XT1053), that is the same model as the T-Mobile version, and this thread is about that:

If it's the Verizon version, then it is anyone's guess.

Checked for the update last night around 2200 EST - ran the update and all looks well today. Interested to see if there's any improvements - I already get a full day on a charge. Biggest thing I'm hoping for is updates to the AGPS that was seriously annoying in gmaps.

As soon as I switched mine on yesterday (yipee) it update to 4.4 and a little while later I got pushed the 4.4.2
What a phone, Motorola Connect is brilliant.

Yep. That is unless you root it and put your own ROM on.

Silly question, but with the developer edition phone are you still dependent on a carrier pushing the update?

T-Mobile and GSM developer edition phones are updated through Motorola directly, don't know about Verizon....probably not.

I have the Developer Edition GSM 32gb.
I am in Ireland and I received the Kit Kat 4.4.2 update.

So what I'm gathering is only Dev editions are getting the update? I have my X on Sprint. Anyone know if and when the Sprint network will rollout the update?
