Any idea why my samsung device ignores scheduled software update times?

Ive seen posts asking this question elsewhere e.g.

And ive been consistently having the same issue since i purchased my samsung tablet
An overview of the problem is as follows
1) device indicates it needs to do a system software update and presents two options - install now or schedule later
2) if you pick schedule later device automatically suggests 2am the following day
3) you go to sleep before 2am, device still on and charged, but in sleep mode
4) wake up next day. System software update has been "postponed" automatically

5) repeat day after day until system software update demands to install right away. When you actually need to use the device

So what irks me is that scheduled install is an option that never works. It might as well not be there. However it is a desirable feature.
I have a samsung galaxy tab s7+ (SM-T970). But i dont know this is a problem restricted to one device. Running android 12 and one ui 4.1

I'm not sure if your table S7+ works the same as my Samsung 22 but it should. When I choose the option to install later, I can choose what time I want (even though it defaults to 2am) and then I can choose whether I want the update to install automatically or if I want to be prompted (give permission for the install). I always wanted to be prompted so the update won't install until I give it the ok.

But it will only ask you so many times. If you delay the install for too many times then eventually it will install automatically.

I will try changing the default scheduled install time next time, sure. If that provides additional options such as getting a further prompt, will check out if saying no to this produces the desirable behaviour.

But the issue isnt the time. It is that despite agreeing to the software install at 2am, it proceeds to ignore this and will instead postpone until the tablet next wakes up out of sleep mode. This invariably is when i am actually using it, as opposed to when i am not...at 2am.

If there are additional prompts e.g to give permission for the install or not, i think that these prompts should appear when the default time is chosen. This scheduled install is pointless if i have to hand hold it at a later time.

I am also aware that deferring install so many times will cause it to install automatically. In fact that is usually how my system software eventually installs because i am so stubborn about it installing at a convenient time. I never win, of course.

When you postpone the install till 2am, are you given the option to install automatically or to install if prompted? It seems like if you were choosing the option to install automatically that it would install without further input from you.

No
When i select default 2am, there are no further options so far as i can tell
Per the screenprints above, only options are "ok" / "cancel"

That is frustrating. I always choose to be prompted instead of installing automatically but according to your screenshots it appears that it should be installed automatically. I don't have any other suggestions.
