Problems with Samsung Smart Switch

I am using a PC (Windows 7) and Outlook 2013. I installed Smart Switch and want to sync my Samsung Galaxy S4 with outlook ( Contacts and Calendar). The software installs ok and recognizes the phone..but when I try to set up the sync preferences I get a message saying it has encountered a "Microsoft Installer Error" and I can't go any further. I have not experienced any problems with outlook or the office products since installation. Has anyone run into this before...?

I've not seen this error before. Have you contacted Samsung to see if they can provide you with further help.
