Files in the wrong order

I just got my S7Edge and put music on a microSD card. I dragged the files onto the card in the correct order but when I open a music player to play them, the files are all mixed up. And even when I downloaded directly onto the card in the phone, the files aren't in the correct order. How can I get the files on the card to appear in the right order? For instance, I have several complete operas on the card. And instead of keeping all of the files for the operas, such as Act 1, Act 2, etc, all of the operas get jumbled.

Are you using the stock Music app? Are the files playing in alphabetical order? Do you know if the music files have the correct ID3 tags associated with them?

One solution is to use a folder-based music player like PowerAmp or MortPlayer Music, and organize your files in the appropriate Artist>Album>Song folder hierarchy.

If you need a good ID3 editor on Android, you should try Music Doctor. It can scan your SD card and you can browse by folder then add to the tags as you see fit. You can also search for songs without tags and fix those too.
