Hi! How do i get a pic from my "downloads" to my gallery?

I saved a pic from a text and it went to "downloads" instead of my gallery. I want to be able to make a print of it-how do I do this without it being in my gallery? Thanks so much!

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which gallery app? Image files in the Download directory should show up in the stock Gallery app, unless there's a file called .nomedia in the directory.

Can you tell us which exact directory your downloaded pic is in?

I have a Galaxy J3. It just says "Gallery" and I can't find where I saw the "downloaded picture" today!! Ugh!!

Welcome to the forums. When you go into the gallery app, it should show you the "downloaded" directory just like it shows your other directories/albums. The Gallery app is just a viewer and not a location on the device. If it's not showing you the download directory, try rebooting your phone, which may cause it to rescan your phone and find the download directory.

If you saved a picture from the text messaging app, it's probably in the directory called /Pictures/Messages, although this can vary depending on the messaging app you're using.
