Iphone 6s Stolen. Can it be used again?

I pre-ordered the iPhone 6s and never received it. Fedex is now doing an investigation but will the phone be able to be used again if someone took it from my door or do these new phones have the option to be "killed" and impossible to use again?

Contact Apple. They will know the IMEI and can have it blocked, and furthermore, tracked if someone tries to activate it.
