Question Photo storage

New user.
I lost my Samsung phone a couple of weeks ago.
I bought a new Motorola.
This new phone was totally laden with google apps - like 9 or 10 of them.
I loathe all things google!!
So far I have managed to remove or disable all their apps except Google Photos.
I do NOT want my photos shared or stored anywhere but on my phone . Nothing immoral or illegal mind you. More for proprietary stuff - patent stuff.
Where can I find a simple photo storage app that does not UL my stuff to the cloud somewhere?
Be nice to find one that is not full of ads too.

The Photos app doesn't necessarily sync with your account and can act as a local-only Gallery. You can turn on/off what you want synced to the cloud (if at all).

Welcome to Android Central! You can also use Google's Gallery app, which is essentially Google Photos without the cloud syncing.

OneDrive from Microsoft also works well.

If you look up "Gallery" in the Play Store you should find a myriad of 3rd party options. Personally I've only used Photos and the built-in Gallery app on my phones, but it seems that the built-in one in your phone IS Photos...

Simple Gallery Pro comes highly recommended by JR Raphael (the Android tech journalist I trust the most). It does cost a little bit of money, but that's how you get rid of ads and support developers.
