There was a rather daft guy here once who wasn't listening to his physics class. His S7 was quite hot for multiple reasons (he was in Australia, heat wave season and played a lot on his phone). Obviously the heat will compromise the waterproof sealing, at least during the duration of the heat up, and he put the thing in a bowl of water to cool down and it got water damage.Everyone here is talking about an s7 ... Ip68 water proof so what the hell are you talking about?
The S7 is only water resist in a normal state with no previous drops that may have broken any part of the seal. That's why it's not really a guaranteed water resist.
