HTC Thunderbolt Camera Turns Screen Black

My phone is rooted and I am currently running SkyRaider Zues 1.3. I originally rooted my phone because my camera and gchat application stopped working. Since then I have flashed many different ROMs attempting to fix the problem. I am finding I like SkyRaider Zues 1.3 best, and I've found a patch that fixes gchat and at least makes the camera app not force close. The issue I am having is the camera now makes the screen turn black when opened. The camera worked when I installed BAMF's version of ICS, but that ROM had some other issues I couldn't live with. Anyone know a fix for this problem? I have searched all over every forum I know of without any luck. Appreciate any help. Thanks, Jeff.

I never flashed any ROMs, but I did have a rooted phone and uninstalling and reinstalling the gchat and camera apps didn't fix the problem. Even a factory reset didn't fix it. I had to have Verizon replace the phone.
