Play Store Notifications

I'm not seeing the progress of app updates on the notification bar like I used to. I believe everything is setup properly.

It's going to sound a bit silly but I remember a couple of similar reports and these steps got the progress notifications back. Force stop and clear cache for the Download Manager then, in that notification screen, switch everything off (three boxes and the toggle) and enable all of them back.

Do you get the Play Store notification after the app has been updated? The progress notification is sent by the Download Manager and the final notification from the Play Store.

Maybe there is something stuck in the download app. Try this, select the Download Manager - notifications - tap the 'In progress' text (not the toggle) and see which options are selected under 'behaviour' and 'advanced'.

I can see that the Play Store shows up as enabled and active 40 minutes ago. Do you get the download progress when you download an image from Chrome, for example?

You could try changing the behaviour/priority for the download manager (to 'make sound' for example) and see if it makes any difference.

Yes, if I download a link or pic from Chrome, I see the during and after notifications.

Very strange. I've found similar reports but only affecting the OnePlus 6T. No idea if it's the same problem or if the fix could work.

Have you already tried force stop, clear data and cache for the Download Manager?

Just changed settings and did an app update. No difference. No sound, no notification, no anything as it relates to progress and notifications. The app update was successful.
