Is it normal for my phone to work better without the sd card in it?

sd card acting up

recently my phone started acting up , the apps woud not open up so tried everthing so finally i decide to take the sd card out and then my s3 starts working again after a reset,i formatted it and still the same problem,any help

Welcome to Android Central. There might be a problem with the card, even though you reformatted it.
