Why isn't my S3 charging?

S3 charging problems

When i plug my s3 in to charge it can be charging for ages and it wont affect the battery display majorly, maybe a few percent in a few hours. This happens both when the phone is on and off. Yet sometimes when i switch my phone off and then pull out the charger and put it back in and do this several times the battery levels on the display go up massively.

It's as if the phone doesn't recognize the battery has been charging? Any tips on how to fix this?

Not sure if its my battery, my charger or the phone

Welcome to Android Central! Try using a different charging cable and wall charger plug. If the same thing happens, then see if you can try a new or different battery. If that doesn't help, then it might be more of an issue with the microUSB port.

Just went through this with my daughters s3. Its the usb port. The connections need the resoldered due the keeping the charger i when using the phone. $50 bucks at a fix it place.
