Galaxy S3 removed power button, wont charge, won't go into recovery mode.

So my power button was stuck and kept turning my phone off when it was in my pocket. It got annoying so I decided to fix it, I removed the power button as according to this video: https:// www. youtube.com/watch?v =3Glllc7bEJs

After removing the power button and reassembling the phone as according to the video, my phone will now not charge, or go into a charging mode so I can reboot it, The light indicating that it's charging will not turn on and i've tried everything I can think of to resolve this situation.
