Why is my password for Android Device Manager not working?

I remotely locked my Galaxy S6 while my phone was lost. After I recovered my phone and rebooted, my phone was locked and doesn't accept my password I set remotely. My password was longer than the limit allowed in the password box on the phone. I want to try all options before I have to reset my phone.

Welcome to the forums. Never done this before, but ADM should have you put in a new password. Perhaps there was a typo? You could try relocking it and reentering a different password.
