personalized sms notifications stopped working on my LG V10

So yesterday I noticed that all of my personalized text notifications that I had set for contacts stopped working and reverted back to the default that came set on the phone. I do tech support and completed a ton of trouble shooting such as checking all settings making sure the notification tones were still selected. Changed them and changed them back. Even reset my phone back to factory settings. I use the default messaging app on the device. Made no changes or added anything new. Even after resetting to factory settings it will not let me change from the default message notification. I am not with Verizon and there are no settings in the messaging app its self to change these tones. Is anyone else having this issue or know of a fix? All of my other customized tones work just fine such as ring tones and other app notifications.
