No audio in my earfones when conected

I have a Samsung note 3 used and I've had it for a while when all of a sudden my audio jack didnt work I checked for lint and if the earfones were broken but no sound came out my earfones and it says its connected. Is my audio jack broken? Do I need to get a new phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried different earphones? Or have you tried the current earphones on a different device?

I checked my earfones on my tablet and they worked fine

The headphone jack might be faulty, then. How did you check for lint? Did you use a can of compressed air to blow it out, or a damp toothpick to root around?

Yes I did but still didn't work

In that case, I'd suspect a faulty jack. If it's important, you can either bring it to a repair shop, or look for a new phone.
