My HTC One M8 keeps telling me my brand new SD card is corrupt?

If recently run out of space on my phone so I bought a new 16GB SD card. When I put it in it tells me I have no space and my SD card is corrupt and to format the card. Tried formatting it and an error message comes up. Then bought a new card and the same thing has happened so 3d times the charm and it rejected it another brand new card? Any helpers please

Welcome to the forums. Couple things come to mind. As the phone internal storage is full the phone may not have enough memory to process the SD card and therefore just rejects it. I would delete some unneeded files and try again. The other is the tray/slot for the SD card has damaged contacts or some other issue. If you can read an SD card in a computer then it should work in the phone also. Sorry, nothing definitive.
