Streaming issues

[Android Central Question]

Recently if I'm in any radio app tunein radio, iheart radio, Amazon music. If I minimize the app an open something else it stops playing until I open app again. Did not use to do this only has been going on recently

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Did this start happening after a system update?

How are you minimizing the app? What if you start playing the music, then press the Home button instead of the Recent Apps button?

I'm having the same issue with Tunein, if I locke the screen, the app pauses within 30 seconds. Happening recently, possibly after the updates. Open the app, and have to hit PLAY again... if I leave the screen on, it will play without pause, but occurs when placed in my pocket or with the screen off. Thought maybe the current issue with the proximity sensor and AOD might be at play, but not so sure now. It will pause the app if sitting on the table playing, but screen dark. Thoughts?

Try turning off Battery Optimization for that app.
