Android Central Question

I have to send my phone for repairing, however, i was told to do a factory reset before doing so. I decided to remove my sd card just in case but the sd card tray doesn't want to pop out so i can't. I have the back up of my files but when i went to factory reset it, it said that "it will erase the encryption of your sd card and you won't be able to access your files anymore" what does this mean? I didn't encrypt anything, will i still have my data blocked after resetting my phone? Or worse, will my sd card be blocked and unusable?

Welcome to Android Central! FYI, Adoptable Storage (as mentioned by L0n3N1nja) means formatting your SD card as Internal Storage, not Portable Storage. Do you remember doing that?
