I think this isn't the case here. Going by the codename would have been a better idea.

When I think of older Android device names, though, I think of phones like the Epig 4G Touch LTE Plus Super Awesome Kitteh Mega Special Edition.:p

The name does have a kinda mysterious/espionage-esque thrill to it. ;)

BlackBerry enjoys doing this type of thing, it seems. It's cool, though. Uniqueness like this sets specific devices apart, IMO.
