Forgot Pattern Password, Way to open Phone?

i have set up a pattern type lock into my phone, now i forgot it,, is there any way to remove that lock, any legit way or hack?

what are the different ways?

If you signed in to Google account on your phone you can use Android Device Manager to reset the password: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager?hl=en

If you didn't sign in, then you will have to factory reset your phone by booting into recovery, its different for each phone so Google it.

The difference between a hard bricked phone and a phone with a dead battery is that the hard bricked phone's battery isn't dead. If the hone does anything - even lights the buttons - it's soft bricked, not hard bricked.

What you do depends (aside from whether it's hard or soft bricked) on the make and model of phone. Hard bricked Samsung S-series phones are as easy to fix as a phone with a bad ROM. Some hard bricked phones are very difficult to fix.
