what if phone was stolen and then reset so now they ask for Samsung account

My phone was stolen and factory reset but it was an abnormal reset so now its asking for Samsung account I'd and password that the phone was already signed into

Welcome to Android Central! That's Samsung's factory reset protection feature (which Google also does now). It a phone is factory reset before first removing the Samsung account (or Google account), the user has to input the Samsung account information upon finishing the factory reset.

If your phone was stolen, how do you know it's asking for your Samsung account?
