chromecast with a denon avr-988

I have a Dennon AVR-988, I know its an older model but is it possible to use chromecast with it? I have plugged it into hdmi port labeled DVD and assigned DVD to hdmi 1, its still not working.
Can anyone advise?

Chrome cast is a digital only device and lacks any way to send out analog signals. If you are connecting to the TV with component cables for video that could be your problem. Also check your input output assignments.
