Nexus 5, D820 model, 32g, 4.4.3

Anyone know ?
I've tried several like "*#*#INFO*#*#" and that gives me "Connection problems or invalid MMI"

Thanks,
Fred

Do you mean Developer Options? If so, Settings>About Phone>tap Build number several times.

Slight error above.

It should be *#*#INFO#*#*

Note the leading *# pair becomes a trailing #* pair.

Open the dialer keypad and enter as above to get a menu with four options:

Phone information
Battery information
Usage statistics
Wi-Fi information

Nope, phone dials and then I get "Call can not be completed as dialed. Please try again"

I think it's the AT&T SIM causing the problem(s).
I'm on AT&T also.
I'll try an old T-Mobil SIM later or maybe just wifi with no SIM

Odd. I would not have thought this was carrier-dependent.

My Nexus 4 was on T-Mobile and then AIO (which uses AT&T's network). My Nexus 5 was on AIO which has recently become Cricket. Whatever the network, *#*#4636#*#* has always worked for me, as it does now.

Just curious: was your AT&T sim originally installed in an AT&T contract phone? Maybe it still has restrictions that should not apply to an unlocked / off-contract device.

Yes it was, then I ETF'd out over a year ago, since bought 2 phones, a S4 (outright purchase from the AT&T store, unlocked it and used it for aomost a year some in the Philippines, which is why I unlocked it) and just a month or so ago the N5. Same SIM for all of them.
