3g simcard but 4g available

Hi,
I used to have 3g phone and now i have 4g phone and 4g service available in my area but my simcard is for 3g, is there a chance to change the settings and receive 4g signal? (nexus 6)

I would ensure your APN settings are setup properly. If anything I would contact your carrier and snag a new one if needed.

Actually I`m looking for a solution not to change and pay for the simcard.
