Nexus 7: Dead Tablet

So I went to use my N7 and it was dead so I plugged it in to charge up and all I get is the battery image and it pops up then goes away. It never does its filling animation with the bolt in the middle.

Any ideas?

My guess is that it is charging, but is actually turned off at the moment. You saw the battery indicator momentarily just to indicate that the charging started.

Try holding the power button down for some seconds to see if it now starts up.
