Way too many issues, who's jumping ship once S22 Ultra launches?

I'd look at a Moto or Nokia, do Nokia still make phones? As probably the closest to AOSP... though my info might be out of date.

I miss my Nexus 4 :(

Yeah, Nokia is still making phones -- a few members have posted about the XR20 lately: https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_us/nokia-xr-20?sku=VMA750D9FI1CN0. Sounds decent -- rugged, with promised Android version upgrades for 3 years and security patches for 4. But it's too bad that they moved away from the Android One program (although I'm not sure if Google was also responsible for Android One dying out). It's also worth pointing out that the old Nokia no longer makes the phones -- it's a Finnish company called HMD Global, which bought the Nokia brand.

The problem with Moto continues to be poor support in terms of updates. They only promise one Android version upgrade and 2 years of security updates, and that's for their flagships: https://www.wired.com/story/motorola-software-updates-rant/

Oh Samsung's come a long way since TouchWiz. Their software is actually pretty great. So much so that I kinda can't believe there was mention of such a thing. I figured we had all moved on.

Yeah, TouchWiz was killed what, 4 years ago?

I wouldn't have touched a Samsung phone with a 10-foot pole back then lol.

Oh yeah, I'd certainly never recommend anyone BUY a Motorola phone! Their support is horrible! And with how close to stock they are, there's really no excuse.

LOL. The Galaxy S III was my first TouchWiz experience. I eventually installed Cyanogenmod. I also had an S8. That reminded me why I skipped the S4, 5, 6 & 7.
I ran Nova on my S8. I didn't try Samsung's launcher until the final couple of weeks with the phone before I traded it in for the S10. I was surprised how much I like it actually.

I was running Nova for a long time on my S10+, but I switched to OneUI after Android 12 arrived. I like it a lot, but I know I'll go back to Nova after a while just because I've used it for so many years.

Which carrier do you have? Are you on 5G or 4G? 5G on T-Mobile in my area is still subpar, so I keep the phone on 4G. If 5G is iffy in your area, maybe the phone was having some connection difficulties.

When you say the Play Store was unresponsive, you mean that nothing happened if you opened it? Or just that nothing was happening when you wanted to install or update apps? That to me sounds more like a glitch in the Play Store app, Download Manager, or Google Play Services (rather than a hardware or firmware glitch).

Did you also make sure you have the latest Google Play system update?
Freedom Mobile. Canada doesn't have 5G. LOL

Out of the box it's on 5G, I changed it to LTE after watching tips on YouTube. Like I said, all good until January update.

I switched it back to 5G. It's still acting up.

I'm always on top of it whether it's Apps or OS, always updated.

The unresponsiveness of the Play Store surprised me. Not happy with Google.

Not a fan of the Pixel but love this one, so it's really disappointing. There will be no, third time's a charm for me. LOL

The reception on my P6 is not nearly as good as on my zflip 3. My local stop&shop is a notoriously bad area. Only certain spots in the store and parking lot gets any reception (Verizon) The other day my P6 couldn't get a signal anywhere. "No network" Had my z flip with me and switched sims. The z flip had bars and LTE in all the right spots. So even as my primary backup phone. I'm getting close to selling it.
